欲入境新西兰旅游的中国公民需要持有访问签证。
1. 新西兰旅游签证受理周期比较长，通常情况需要2-4周不等，无需预约及面试，申请人可以委托向新西兰签证中心递交签证申请并领取护照。
2.非护照签发地所属地领区签证的新西兰探亲访友签证申请人可以跨领区申请，但需要提供在准备申请签证的领区工作或居住半年以上的证明。
3.新西兰旅游签证要求资料严谨，新西兰签证申请人需定制，整理真实.明确的出行目的和行程。
4.曾经被拒签的新西兰签证申请人可以在任何时间重新递交新的签证申请。
5.签证申请审理的过程中，新西兰使馆签证处可能会要求申请人提供更多的信息或材料。
6.所有新西兰探亲访友签证资料都必须翻译成英文。
签证除了有效期、停留期之外，还规定有效次数。一般分为一次有效签证、两次和多次有效签证等。签证的有效次数是指该签证在有效期内，使用一次就失效。两次有效签证，即在签证有效期内可以使用两次。多次有效签证，即在签证有效期内持照人可以多次出、入其国境。例如澳大利亚、印度的旅游签证有的是在3个月或者6个月内允许多次入出境。有些国家受雇签证也是多次入境有效。当然签发何种签证，有效期限多长，有效次数多少，签证机关是根据入境申请者的具体情况决定的。
